Campagnano di Roma to La Giustiniana

Left our beautiful little house after a pancetta sandwich made with fresh ingredients from the fridge - very tasty bacon! Will make it back at home. We went for a coffee in the medieval square before heading off.

Campagnano di Roma to La Guistiniana

A very warm and long day today. My watch is now telling me 34.4k with lots of hills and no shade. But we are in great spirits and loving the experience.

We had lunch at Fromello through the gateway and as, we've come to expect, found a stunning hilltop village barely mentioned in the guides.

Wild flowers, which sadly didn't photograph well, and a waterfall in the woods - at least 50ft high and an old mill. Again, not mentioned in the guides. I think because it is deep in a gully with no access - and an accident waiting to happen! But there is a bridge that you walk across.

A monk waved at Ang through an open window!

Very hot afternoon of walking into La Storta, very disappointing and not what we'd come to experience. No ancient centre...unless we missed it?

Miama Resort La Giustiniana

We arrived at final sleep before Rome, a place called Veio Residence. A chalet in nature before the city. NOT more like being in the film Deliverance or The Hills Have Eyes: rundown, dirty but with a menagerie of animals. We walked to a steak house which was the best.

Tomorrow...Rome! XX
